How to set up the Google calendar sync with A360 app

With the Google calendar sync with A360 app by SendPulse, you can integrate Google Calendar with SendPulse Automation to create communication workflows or update data in SendPulse tools whenever a calendar event occurs. For example, you can send event updates to all participants and create a deal for your manager to start making arrangements.

This integration allows you to export event attendees’ data to launch automated flows, where you can:

  • Send instant reminders via email, chatbots, SMS, or Viber;
  • Update contact information through SendPulse tools;
  • Save contacts to mailing lists to send emails, SMS, and Viber campaigns;
  • Send webhooks to your system for more integrations;
  • Create deals or tasks in your CRM system with calendar event contacts;
  • Invite or enroll users in your courses, etc.

In this article, we will talk about how to set up the integration and configure an automated action.

Install the app

Go to App directory > Apps, and search for Google calendar sync with A360. Next to the app, click Install. You can also click Preview to open the app page and click Install.

In the next window, review the data the app wants to access, and click Accept.

Set up the app

To configure the app, go to its page by clicking the Preview button. On the page, you will see more information about app category, developer, and tags. You will also be able to install or uninstall it.

Connect your Google account

On the app page, click Сontinue with Google Calendar.

Log in to the Google account you want to connect, and click Continue. Grant the sendpulse.com app permission to view and edit data in your calendars.

Select your calendars

In the first section, select the calendar from which to import events. You can choose one or several calendars.

Integrate with Automation

Select the Integration settings with Automations checkbox, and select a custom event in Automation. This action adds a contact to your automated flow start and initiates it for contacts when a new calendar event occurs.

In the next section, configure field mapping. In the Match Google Calendar variable column, select variables from your Google Calendar event, and in the A360 custom event column, select corresponding variables from your event.

If you do not have a certain variable, go to your event and add it. You might also want to make sure that both your calendar event and Automation event have the correct variable type.

To identify a contact in SendPulse, use the email or phone variable.

You can pass the following variables from your Google Calendar event:

email string An attendee’s email address. Used to identify attendees or calendar owners.
displayName string An attendee’s name in Google Calendar.
summary string A brief event description in Google Calendar.
htmlLink string An event page link in Google Calendar.
eventType string An event type.
attendees array A list of attendees and their email addresses, statuses, etc.

Once you set up the app, click Save.

Manage the app

To change the spreadsheet or account owner, click Change Google account. In the next window, confirm the action, and follow the steps outlined in Connect your Google account.

To deactivate the integration and stop sending events from your calendar, clear the Integration settings with Automations checkbox and click Save.
