How to use the “SendPulse notifications” bot

With the SendPulse Notifications bot, you can set up notifications for your chatbot admin about triggered flow elements and receive and reply to messages from subscribers. This allows you not to miss requests from customers and give them feedback promptly.

In this article, we will talk about how to configure the SendPulse Notifications bot to send notifications about open chats and triggered flows or elements.

How to reply in open chats via the bot

You can reply right from the SendPulse Notifications bot in all open chats.

Open chats are chats where subscribers started a conversation, sent a message, and then received a standard bot reply. A chat is considered open if a subscriber has not received a reply yet.

Allow notifications from the bot

Go to your bot settings, and select the Notify me in messenger about open chats checkbox.

Subscribe to the bot or add it to a group

To receive notifications, subscribe to the SendPulse Notifications bot in Telegram (@sendpulse_notifications_bot). Click the "Subscribe to the bot" link — you will be redirected to the Telegram app. Then, click START in the chat window.

To add the bot to an existing group, click the Add to group link, go to the Telegram application, and select a group from the list. For example, it can be a group of your managers who monitor incoming messages.

Reply to messages in the bot

When you receive a notification about new messages, you can open the chat in your SendPulse account. To do this, click Go to chat.

To reply directly in the SendPulse Notifications bot, click Reply, and wait for the automated message ("Please write text reply"). Type in your reply to the subscriber, and send it. The subscriber will see this reply in your own chatbot.

How to Connect the Bot to a Flow

If a flow is started by a certain trigger, you will be able to receive notifications about incoming messages but not reply to them. To reply, you need to go to SendPulse.

Add the "Action" Element and Set Up Notifications

Drag the Action element from the left sidebar, and link it to the required element in your workspace — once a subscriber reaches this element, you will be notified about it.

Select an action

In the opened panel on the right, select the Notify me action.

Create a message

You can create a message that will be sent to the SendPulse Notifications bot. It will help you understand your subscribers’ requests. To do this, you can use variables and type in a message of up to 1,024 characters.

To add a variable, click the brackets icon in the text field, and select a variable from the list. For example, the {{last_message}} variable value is the last message from a subscriber, and the {{$current_datetime}} variable value is the time when their message was sent. You can also add custom variables.

Subscribe to the bot

If you haven't subscribed to the SendPulse Notifications bot (@sendpulse_notifications_bot) yet, you can do this using the links under the field (subscribe to the bot from your profile or add it to the group).

If you select the Add link to chat checkbox, the bot’s notifications will include a link to your SendPulse account, where you can reply to a subscriber via your own chatbot.

Click Apply to save the settings.

Receive notifications about flow messages

You will receive a bot notification every time a subscriber reaches the Action element in your flow.

You will not be able to reply to subscribers right in the SendPulse Notifications bot. To send a reply via your own chatbot, follow the "Go to chat" link.

Manage notifications

You can disable notifications you get about certain subscribers via the SendPulse Notifications bot.

Select the Manage command from your chatbot menu — you will receive an accounts list to which you are subscribed. To disable notifications about some of them, click Disable for.
